The
graduation cap is always a challenge, but a fun one! |
|

There's
always at least one dog that wants to play with the hat instead of wear
it! |
... or maybe
eat the hat! |
We think Zeus
was a little embarrassed by the whole thing! |
Scout just
seems to say "aren't I cute?" |

This following

Puppy Kindergarten
class

Blitz seemed to have a little problem with the
tassle! |
The
mother of Blitz's owner made a graduation gown for the puppies and donated it to
CCOC.
THANK YOU,
Kam, for your
thoughtfulness! |
Blitz is
looking good
in the cap and gown! |

|
Here are Blitz, Harley and Windsor demonstrating the "Stay" command at graduation,
which is one of the commands the puppies learn. |
|
Blitz
is only 4 months old!
Notice
how far away his handler is! |

|
 |
Pat gave
Harley the Stay command, then walked away - Harley stayed in position.
Harley
learned his lessons well - notice the dropped leash!!!
|
|
Windsor
also learned the stay command well. Valerie gave him the command,
walked a few feet away, placed a TREAT (notice the dark spot on the
floor about half way between), and Windsor stayed until Valerie released
him! |

|

At
graduation, we have lots of fun!
In
addition to teaching their puppies the basic obedience commands, the
owners also learn how to teach puppies tricks. Tricks are not only fun for
puppies and their owners, but they are also a great tension-breaker!
At
graduation, the puppies show off some of the tricks they've learned.
|
It's
exciting when someone comes up with a new trick. Sarah taught Turq
to "tell me a secret". |
Tank
(left) and Asa (right) do a "rollover" |
|
Julie
& Jake show off several tricks - "Rollover", "Up
Pretty", &
"Stay" |
|
Nikita, Emmy,
Zeus & Dee demonstrating the "shake" (one of
the most popular tricks) |
|
Travis,
Ruckus and Duke demonstrate another version called a "high
five" |
Pat
called this was a "low five" |

"Dancing"
|
Tucker is demonstrating a slightly different type of dance - weaving
in and out of his owner's legs! |
Amanda
& Dee demonstrate a rollover
Buddy does
a rollover

CoCo does a
"spin" for Elaine
|

Tia

Saydee

|

Lexi &
Kasey, both Mastiffs, demonstrating the "crawl"
|

Gus
does a "high 5"
|
|

Dayzee
does a "spin". |

Storm
"begs" for Sue |

Nikki
is a Luellen Setter, a hunting breed.
Her
"trick" was to point a grouse wing...just what she was born to
do...isn't that what it's all about! |
Baylea "begs" for
Bonnie
|
Shilo with his "grand finale" - the bow

|
We
play some games at graduation |
|

This
was a game of "musical carpets" |
|

This was a relay race using the sit, down
and stand commands |

This
was a timed game of "puppy pushups" (sit/down/stand) |
|
This
was the "down" challenge - these dogs had to do it over again
because they both were fast on the down and we couldn't determine who went
down first! |

|

|
This
was the "sit" challenge as assistants Diana and Jessie try to
figure out who sat first! |
